I like Anisette (and Sambuca), but I don't particularly like black licorice. I don't know why. I particularly like Anisette baked into biscotti and also slowly sipping it after an Italian dinner. In the 1980s, I enjoyed regular coffee and also espresso with a little Sambuca mixed in. (My heritage is half Italian.)

July is White History Month, as per founder Jesse Lee Peterson, conservative commentator and Christian minister. The first observance was in 2018, so 2026 marks its ninth observance. Peterson picked July because "July just feels white," meaning "patriotism" and "vacations."
