That's true for me. When I improvise on a piano, if I hit a wrong note, I play the next few notes wrong, so it sounds like my first wrong note was on purpose. I then turn my improv into some kind of cheesy, campy, kitchy, avant-garde piece of music, at least a section of it, until I can get back to playing my normal improv. After I finish, the entire improv sounds proper and somewhat interesting. For me, every improv is the quintessential improv.
