That's the reason why in television commercials, the men are stupid and helpless, and the women are intelligent enough to buy a product that will make her life, her husband's life, and the children's lives better and reduce the time wives spend doing housework. I learned that at university in the early 1980s. I also learned that most of the people in commercials are minorities because corporations are trying to expand their customer base. White people are already buying the stuff they are selling, so they have to appeal to those people who are not yet purchasing the stuff. It sounds feasible to me.
