On June 9, 1978, the Rolling Stones album "Some Girls" was released. This album is near and dear to my heart because it is the official album of West Islip High School's Class of 1979 of which I am a member.
Our unofficial senior prom song was "Shattered" from this album. Our official prom song was "We May Never Pass This Way (Again)" by Seals & Crofts. Both songs were played at our prom by the live band.
Also, someone (in 1979 around graduation day) spray-painted (in black paint) on the side of the high school: "Class of 1979 Shattered." By the time I retrieved my camera, it was already gone.
My all-time favorite Stones song is from the "Some Girls" album: "Before They Make Me Run." Here is a link to this song.
