Doing Better After Surgeries

I am doing better, but I am still on strong pain medication. I still have 96 metal staples in my legs (photo: right leg: 70; left thigh: 16; left calf: 10) and a bandaged left foot, but I have started light physical rehabilitation. For now, I am living in a physical rehabilitation facility called Cascades at Delray Beach. - November 17, 2025

Tuesday evening (November 4, 2025), I had a six-hour-long surgery to remove a long vein within my right leg (about 3 feet long) to bypass an occluded (blocked) artery within my left leg. Basically, my right vein was reversed and put within my left leg. (In March 2022, I had a vein removed from my left leg for use in my quadruple coronary artery bypass surgery (open-heart surgery).

Saturday afternoon (November 8, 2025), I had two of my toes amputated on my left foot (the third and fourth) due to the blockage.

I was to have all five of my toes amputated, but my podiatrist, who did my left foot surgery, told me that I had a 50-50 chance of saving the other three toes with six weeks of daily intravenous antibiotics. I received many bags of intravenous antibiotics at the hospital. I continue to receive multiple bags of intravenous antibiotics every day for a bone infection within the big toe of my left foot.

I have done this six-week-long antibiotic regimen many times for multiple bone infections and skin infections within both of my feet and legs.

Recent Surgeries (8):

1. March 2022: open-heart (quadruple)
2. May 2022: 1st chest
3. May 2022: 2nd chest
4. September 2023: 1st spine
5. October 2023: 2nd spine
6. April 2024: right ankle
7. November 2025: both legs
8. November 2025: left foot
