SURGERY TODAY !!! ... One can hope.
After many postponements at two different hospitals since October 31, 2025, my artery bypass surgery (left leg) is now scheduled for 7 p.m., today (November 4, 2025) here at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
My podiatrist notified me last week that this surgery is urgent and if not done immediately could lead to possible amputations. Various vascular physicians/surgeons apparently think otherwise.
SURGICAL EXPECTATIONS: an angiogram before "extensive" surgery ... removal of a vein in my right thigh to be used for a bypass in my left thigh due to a severe occlusion (blockage) in my artery (left thigh) that can NOT be cleared ... also, clearing of a partially occluded (blocked) artery in my right thigh with a balloon
I have severe wounds in my left foot (toes and heel), but no wounds in my right foot. I experience pain in both of my feet with intermittent, severe, crushing pain in both of my feet, mostly in my left foot. Also, I have had peripheral neuropathy in both of my feet in the form of numbness and pain for many years.
Since October 31, 2025 until now and continuing, at Delray Medical Center and now at Boca Raton Regional Hospital, I have been been receiving intravenous antibiotics and an intravenous blood thinner (anticoagulant), now with three IV ports in my right arm. Also, because I am diabetic1 and am NOT allowed to eat or drink anything since midnight prior to the day of surgery, I have been receiving intravenous fluid (water with sugar and probably salt) to keep me hydrated and my blood-sugar levels in safe ranges.
Recent Surgeries:
March 2022: quadruple coronary artery bypass; a vein in my left thigh was removed for use in my open-heart surgery
May 2022: first chest (related)
May 2022: second chest (related)
September 2023: first spine
October 2023: second spine
April 2024: right ankle
Prior to these surgeries, I have had nasal/sinus surgery and four surgeries to my left foot.
