R.I.P. Hall of Fame harness racing driver Carmine Abbatiello (May 23, 1936 - January 27, 2026), age 89 ... Known as "The Red Man," he was a prominent figure in the New York/New Jersey racing scene. My friend Paul and I often watched Abbatiello and other standardbred drivers race at the Meadowlands race track in New Jersey in the 1980s.
