Roe Headline In Rehab

From husband Bill: Today (June 25, 2026) is the day after the fourth anniversary of the overturning of Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. I created and uploaded my celebration video yesterday onto my YouTube channel and then posted the link on various social media platforms.

Today, I wanted to post the photo (below), taken on the day after the Supreme Court ruling four years ago (June 25, 2022).

At that time, I was in a physical rehabilitation facility following quadruple coronary artery bypass surgery on March 9, 2022 and two related chest surgeries on May 19 and 25, 2022: one surgery to open me to remove sternal plates due to loose screws and to tend to an infection within my chest, and another surgery about a week later to close me. I arrived at rehab on June 3, 2022. Since those three surgeries, I had six more surgeries, up until May 2026: two spine (abscess removed and then titanium metal rods attached); right ankle; artery bypass (vein in my right leg taken out and put within my left leg); amputation of two toes of left foot; and angioplasty of left leg.

So, it was June 25, 2022, when I first was offered a newspaper since I had been at rehab. I am not a fan of The New York Times due to its heavily liberal/politically leftist bias, but that is all she had to offer. Anyway, I accepted the newspaper, mainly because I was and still am extremely happy that the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade and because I wanted to see the large bold headline printed onto the front page. After all, it really is good news, as well as an important historical event. Unfortunately, someone threw out the paper. I had hoped to save it for posterity.

I was a journalist from September 1982 to April 2017. I have been a staunch Conservative for my entire life and a registered Republican since 1979, but I have always kept my political leanings out of my professional life.
