My favorite pasta is bucatini. (I am half Italian, all on Mom's side of my family.)
When I was a kid in the 1960s and 1970s, my paternal grandmother (Swiss-Austrian) made cooked elbow macaroni mixed with breadcrumbs that were fried in melted butter. We called it "Noodles & Crumbs."
