I just wanted to share this cologne commercial with you. I just saw it on TV for the first time and then found it on YouTube. I find it to be a combination of horribly offensive, massively disheartening, and definitely indicative of contemporary women. It certainly grabbed my attention which is its purpose.
It portrays the impossibly, unattainably, massively high standards of today's woman and the ability of this cologne to easily bring men ever-so-slightly closer to reaching those unattainable standards.
I totally understand the commercial's effectiveness because it is actually a modern representation of the ancient concept of being told that by using a product, something good will happen to you. For example, in the 1950s and 1960s, detergent companies told housewives that if you use their detergent, their husband's shirts would be whiter and that he would get compliments at the office, and she could be proud of him.
Women make more than 90 percent of all purchases, which is why TV commercials portray women as intelligent and empowered, and men as stupid apes who need women to keep them alive.
My interest in this area is continuing after decades. My university education back in the 1980s includes in small part: television production and interpersonal communications. I was a journalist from September 1982 to April 2017. I have also been a Men's Rights Activist since the early 1990s, when I was in my early 30s. I find man/woman interaction fascinating.
