Children raised in two-parent (mother and father) homes and single-father homes are much more successful than children raised in single-mother homes, state statistical analyses. Children raised in single-mother homes are more likely to be criminals, drug addicts, suffer from depression, have higher instances of suicide, etc. Single-father homes and two-parent homes are quite similar. This is all based on sociological studies. Of course, the two-parent home is best, but the single-father home is a close second.
Mothers are awarded full custody of the children in at least 92 percent of family-court cases. This is due to anti-male judges. Lawyers are advising fathers to NOT fight to be with their children because the fights are extremely expensive, and the fathers are almost sure to lose. Fathers are people, too. I would love to see fathers get a little justice.
80 percent of divorces are initiated by women, 90 percent by university-educated women.

From 1992 to 1996, I was a reporter, writer, editor, and researcher for a weekly, international magazine on the financial and technical aspects of the chemical industry from an industrial perspective. The magazine, titled "Chemical Marketing Reporter," was based in New York City.
While working there, I attended a perfume symposium in New York City with hundreds of representatives from perfume companies. That was one of my favorite assignments because I was one of the very few men who were there. Those in attendance were women and a few gay men.
The symposium was more about the final products, meaning the perfumes in the bottles. For my purposes, I needed information about the bulk ingredients used to make the final products: linalool; bergamot oil; ylang-ylang.
Trivia: The price of sandalwood oil is partially based on the mortality rate in India. Funeral pyres are made of sandalwood, so more deaths means less sandalwood for processing, meaning less sandalwood oil, meaning higher prices. Fewer deaths mean low prices for sandalwood oil.
I started as the "Oils, Fats, and Waxes Editor" (great title) and then made a lateral move to "Flavors and Fragrances Editor." I was then promoted to "Heavy and Agriculture Chemicals Editor" and was again promoted to "Market Research Editor."
While I was there, I wrote about an array of chemicals, including: plastics including polyethylene terephthalate (for making soda bottles); pigments including titanium dioxide (for use in paints and soft drink mixes; pharmaceuticals like bulk penicillin; petrochemicals like benzene, xylene, and toluene; plus carnauba wax; castor oil; grease (both yellow AND white); sandalwood oil; menthol; and even fertilizers/explosives like ammonium nitrate.

Follow me on my longstanding, personal tradition, and then ask yourself, as I do now: Why do I make my life so complicated, especially in regard to the color of my garments?
I am once again following my own six-decades-long, personal tradition of wearing the color purple on St. Patrick's Day today (March 17, 2026). Here is a selfie of myself wearing my favorite St. Paddy's Day shirt. I have been doing this since my age was in single digits in the late 1960s because I am half Italian. (I am also Austrian, Swiss, and Portuguese.)
Purple is the color of the Italians. I am a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Delta, which is a national, Italian-heritage, social-service fraternity, mostly at colleges and universities in the northeastern section of the United States. I became a member in the early 1980s, when I was studying for my undergraduate degree at Villanova University near Philadelphia, and was soon elected as a member of the fraternity's university executive board, specifically as "Recording Secretary." Our fraternity colors are purple and white, with the white carnation as our fraternity flower.
When I started my tradition in the late 1960s, around seven or eight years old, it was slightly before I had discovered that we Italians have our own celebratory day -- St. Joseph's Day -- which is two days later on March 19.
After all of these decades, I continue to keep my purple tradition alive, as you can see in this selfie from today.
However, we Italians wear red on St. Joseph's Day, which I will be doing in two days.
As an aside, do not wear the color orange on St. Patrick's Day, that is, unless you want to offend the Irish Catholics. Orange is the color of the Protestants. And, of course, wearing green on either day was never an option for me due to my contrarian nature.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY !!! "Breathless" by The Corrs is my favorite song by my favorite Irish band. Yeah, I like The Corrs better than U2.
The Corrs is an Irish family band consisting of siblings Andrea (lead vocals, tin whistle, mandolin, ukulele), Sharon (violin, keyboards, vocals), Caroline (drums, percussion, piano, bodhrán, vocals) and Jim (guitar, piano, keyboards, vocals). Their music combines pop rock with traditional Irish themes. They are from Dundalk in County Louth, Ireland.
What I like is that many of their songs represent a woman professing her love for a man. That is extremely rare and quite refreshing. I also like brother Jim's guitar technique and song arrangements (instrumentation and harmonies). ... and yes, the three sisters sing well and are quite beautiful. They all got the vibe "goin' on."

Happy St. PaDDy's Day !!! The name Paddy is a nickname for the name Patrick. (Please don't use/say Patty.) Notice that there isn't a period after "St". The British and Irish do not use the period, while we here in the United States do. One exception: No period is used for the soda Dr Pepper.
