Through research, I discovered that the June 1-June 2 discrepancy may possibly be due to a difference in time zones, whatever that means. I will leave it up to you to decide the actual date of release.
"Pepper" was scheduled to be released in the United Kingdom on June 1, 1967, but a leak caused an earlier release on May 26, 1967.
My favorite song from the album is "Lovely Rita." Here is a link to the song.

On this date, June 2, in 1967, The Beatles album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" was released in the United States. For many decades, I thought it was released on June 1, 1967. I found out fairly recently that it was released on June 2, 1967.

You must experience this incredible promotional film from 1967 of the amazing final song on the album: "A Day in the Life."

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: At the end of the song, the recording volume was turned up so much that you can hear the squeeking of a bench of one of the four pianos, and then you can hear the air conditioning unit.
At the very end of the song, The Beatles put in a very high-pitched whistle sound that dogs can hear, but humans can't. They wanted to get dogs barking, with their owners not knowing why.
The "nonsense" after the song ended is called "The Inner Groove." Back in the 1960s, playing a vinyl record, when it's over, the arm holding the needle automatically pops off of the record, and the record player shuts off. With "The Inner Groove," it never stops until you manually take the needle off of the record. If you don't, it will play forever.
