Today (September 16, 2025) is POW/MIA Recognition Day (prisoner of war/missing in action). My great-uncles Phil and Rocky were MIAs and POWs during World War II. They are two of my maternal grandmother's brothers. Here is a tribute to both of them in their hometown on Long Island, New York.
UPDATE: The actual date in 2025 is September 19, as the third Friday in September.
