Distant Memory

This is a distant, somewhat fond memory.

In the 1960s, when I was a wiseassed, very young kid around seven years old (1968?), my mom and I were in the car, returning home from shopping. I had my portable tape recorder in the car, and I wouldn't stop bothering my mother to say something so that I could record it. She wouldn't talk. She then got annoyed with me and said to me: "If I had two cents, I would pull this car over and smack you." I reached into the pocket of my pants and gave her two cents. Uh, yeah. She pulled the car over and gave me a light smack. I got the message loud and clear. (true story)
