A nurse at my physical rehabilitation facility, where I am now, counted the metal staples (sutures) in my legs from my artery bypass surgery.
right leg: seventy (70)
left thigh: sixteen (16)
left calf: ten (10)
total: ninety-six (96)
Wednesday evening (November 5, 2025), I had surgery to remove a long vein within my right leg (about 3 feet long) to bypass an occluded (blocked) artery within my left leg. Basically, my right vein was reversed and put within my left leg. In March 2022, I had a vein removed from my left leg for use in my quadruple coronary artery bypass surgery (open-heart surgery).
Saturday afternoon (November 8, 2025), I had two of my toes amputated on my left foot (the third and fourth) due to the blockage. I was to have all five of my toes amputated, but my podiatrist, who did my left foot surgery, told me that I had a 50-50 chance of saving the other three toes with six weeks of daily intravenous antibiotics. I received many bags of intravenous antibiotics at the hospital.
I have a bone infection within the big toe of my left foot. I have done this six-week-long antibiotic regimen many times for bone infections and skin infections within both of my feet and legs.
