Making Sugo With My Wife

This early afternoon (October 16, 2022), my wonderful wife and I combined our culinary talents again to make our homemade Sugo (Italian tomato sauce). We haven't made it in quite a while due to my medical issues, so I felt especially comforted by cooking with her again. I required the aid of a metal walker to stabilize myself at the stove.

On March 9, 2022, I had quadruple coronary artery bypass surgery. On May 16 and on May 25, 2022, I had reconstructive surgeries on my chest. I was in a hospital and at a physical-rehabilitation facility for a total of 70 straight days (May 13 to July 21, 2022). I am expected to be mostly healed one year from my last (third) surgery, so I should be "up and around" by May 2023.

While I am still weak, and my chest is still sore, swollen, and numb, today's domestic activity was both physically and psychologically therapeutic for me.

No Cake; Cake

November 26, 2024, at home I don't really like cake. Just give me a tub of frozen chocolate frosting and a teaspoon, and I will be happy...
